JANET DOBBIN

Returned to the UK in 2016, after retiring from an expatriate career in the Middle East and Africa.

Hotel Management and Human Resources have given her a wide range of skills and experience. She started pet sitting in 2015 and just loved it, wishing she’d done it earlier. Her charges have included, Alpacas and Aberdeen Angus cows(not to be repeated) as well as dogs and cats of all sizes and personalities. She enjoys the outdoor life and garden, but is just as happy sitting watching TV or reading a good book with a cup of tea and a cat or dog on her lap.

In South Africa she undertook many projects with the SPCA and local vets involving the sterilisation of dogs and cats in squatter camps and low income areas, this included a government project involving 2,000 dogs, and handling animals at charitable Sterilisation Marathon with her local vets. She has worked with many animals requiring medication and holds a Police Clearance Certificate.

JACKIE WILLEMS

Retired after 20 years working for the Environment Agency.

A major part of her charity work involves giving talks and presentations about Water Aid and the work they do around the world. Her work for the environment agency was recognised when her employers nominated her for an MBE, which she was awarded in 2009. After a lifetime of pets she is currently pet-less but has taken great joy in caring for the pets of others.

She is likes to stay fit with walking and has walked a long distance footpath each year, including Wainwrights Coast to Coast (191 miles), Offas Dyke Path (195 miles) and Hadrian’s wall. South Downs Way and West Highland Way twice!!. So dog walking is no problem for her.

Jackie recently moved to Shropshire and is enjoying searching out new walks.
